The Best of Both Worlds — Frame Where You Need It

Semi-frameless shower screens combine a perimeter aluminium frame on the fixed panel with an unframed door. This gives you the structural reliability of a frame where it matters most, while keeping the door edge clean and unobstructed for a modern look.

Ready Glaze semi-frameless screens use 6mm toughened safety glass with an aluminium frame on the fixed panels. The door panel is unframed with pivot or sliding hardware in your choice of finish. This configuration offers a good balance between the clean lines of fully frameless and the affordability and installation ease of a framed system.

Semi-frameless screens are well suited to standard shower recesses, corner showers and bathroom renovations. They are popular for mid-range bathroom projects where you want a modern appearance without the price point of a fully frameless setup. The frame on the fixed panels adds rigidity and simplifies installation, particularly where walls are slightly out of square.

All hardware is available in chrome, matte black, brushed nickel, satin chrome and gunmetal to match your bathroom fittings.

Measurement Guidance

Measure the width at the top and bottom of the opening and the height from the hob to the desired screen height. Semi-frameless screens are more forgiving than frameless due to the aluminium frame, but accurate measurements still ensure the best result. Note door swing direction and any obstructions.

Semi-frameless Shower Screens FAQs

Common questions about our semi-frameless shower screens

What is a semi-frameless shower screen?

A semi-frameless shower screen has an aluminium frame on the fixed panels but the door panel is unframed.

It provides a cleaner look than fully framed while being more affordable than frameless.

What is the difference between frameless and semi-frameless?

Frameless has no frame at all — glass is held by clamps and hinges only. Semi-frameless has a frame on the fixed panels but the door remains unframed.

Frameless looks cleaner but costs more.

What glass thickness is used?

Semi-frameless screens use 6mm toughened safety glass compliant with AS/NZS 2208.

We specify glass to suit the opening and wet-area requirements.

Can I install it myself?

Yes. The aluminium frame on fixed panels makes installation more straightforward than fully frameless.
